Ratnakar Mahapatra Assumes Charge as New Principal of Shobharampur Higher Secondary School

Balasore, February 4 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Ratnakar Mahapatra has assumed charge as the new Principal of the Higher Secondary School at Shobharampur in Balasore with effect from February 2.

The post fell vacant following the retirement of Annada Prasad Jena, who served as Principal of the institution for a decade and retired on January 31. After receiving government approval, Mahapatra, a senior lecturer of the Education Department working at the same institution, formally took over charge from Jena.

On the occasion, a farewell meeting was organised by the school authorities. The teaching and non-teaching staff along with students welcomed the new Principal with bouquets and extended their best wishes for his tenure.

Speakers at the meeting included Chakradhar Mahapatra, Debajani Das, Rabindra Sethi, Banita Mishra, Suryakanta Sahu, Kamalakanta Parida, and Arpita Nayak. Members of the non-teaching staff also shared their views. All speakers paid rich tribute to the outgoing Principal, describing Annada Prasad Jena as soft-spoken, dedicated, responsible, and deeply value-driven.

The programme was also attended by Dr Madhabika Nayak, former Principal and daughter of the institution’s founder Rayashree Upendra Prasad Nayak; former lecturer Braja Kishore Mallik; former Principals Dayanidhi Biswal; and former Commerce lecturer Barendra Nath Behera, who addressed the gathering.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by lecturer Saumya Ranjan Pradhan.
