SEVERAL PARTS OF ODISHA TO RECEIVE HEAVY RAIN UNDER INFLUENCE OF CYCLONE MICHAUNG
Bhubaneswar (03/12/2023): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that several parts of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu are likely to receive heavy rain under the influence of cyclone Michaung. The cyclone is likely to move west-westwards, intensify further and reach westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coasts by December 4 afternoon. It is likely to move parallelly and close to south Andhra Pradesh coast and cross south Andhra Pradesh coast between Nallore and Machhilipatnam during forenoon of December 5 as a cyclonic storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph. Rainfall activities may continue in Odisha till December 6.
