Walkie-talkie system to be introduced in Srimandir

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): The security arrangements of the Shree Jagannath Temple will be further strengthened. Mobile phones will be completely banned inside the temple. No police personnel or servitors will be allowed to carry mobile phones inside.

After the meeting of Srimandir Security Sub Committee, Security Sub-Committee Chief Girish Chandra Murmu informed that a walkie-talkie communication system will be introduced for coordination inside the temple.

He said discussions were held regarding both internal and external security of the temple. Some measures will be implemented by the temple administration itself, while others will be carried out by the government.

“The intention is not to trouble anyone; these steps are being taken purely for the safety and sanctity of Srimandir,” Murmu said.

He added that security arrangements in other major temples will also be observed before finalizing all decisions.
