In his acceptance speech, Mr. Jena shared powerful insights on the future of the global agri-food business and stressed the need for innovation to drive the sector forward. He also spoke about the ongoing FTA trade agreement with the UK and its impact on the future of India’s agri-food sector, as well as the tariffs imposed by the US and how they could affect the country’s exports.
The prestigious ceremony was attended alongside Mr. Jena by Ismail Al Naki, Director General of the Free Zones Authority of Ajman; Lutfulla Khader Basha, Director of Casagrand; Indian film actor Kunal Kapoor; and Anil Kumar, Director of Al Fresco Overseas Trading, the Dubai-based subsidiary of Highland Agro. Notably, Al Fresco supplies premium agricultural products to retail markets abroad.
Inspired by his father, Er. Rabindra Kumar Jena, Chairman of the Highland Group of Companies, Mr. Pratik Jena has taken up leadership with dedication, successfully positioning Highland Agro Foods at the forefront of India’s agri-export industry. The company actively partners with small-scale farmers at the grassroots level across India, employing over 70% women. This has set a benchmark for women-led success in the agricultural sector.
