31 PLATOONS POLICE FORCE TO BE DEPLOYED IN BHUBANESWAR FOR DURGA PUJA
Bhubaneswar (19/10/2023): The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for ensuring a trouble-free Durga Puja in Bhubaneswar. Briefing about the security measures, Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said, "This year, Durga Puja will be held in 188 mandaps in Bhubaneswar.
The puja mandaps have been divided into three categories.
To ensure smooth celebration of Durga Puja, 31 platoons police force will be deployed.
Restriction will be imposed on movement of heavy vehicles from October 20 to 25.
Besides, blocking and checking will be done.
We have set up six control rooms to respond to any emergency situation.
This apart, striking force will be deployed to intervene if necessary." The Commissioner highlighted that 12 Additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 41 Inspectors, 151 officers, 500 constables, 12 traffic officers and 200 homeguards will be deployed in the city to prevent any untoward incident.
