Application date for Gopabandhu Journalist Health Insurance Scheme extended; Sambadika Milita Manch thanks Odisha government

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty: As per the direction of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the last date to apply for the Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana (Journalist Health Insurance Scheme) has been extended. Earlier, the deadline for application was August 25.

Considering the requests from journalists, the state government has extended the last date to August 30.

Through this scheme, the state government is providing health insurance to working journalists. Under the scheme, working journalists and their families can avail cashless medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh at various empanelled hospitals.

This year too, applications are being accepted online from both new applicants and for renewals. Interested journalists can apply through the website www.owjws.odisha.gov.in.

Sambadika Milita Mancha Convenor Dr Lingaraj Sahoo has thanked the state government for extending the deadline for the interests of journalists.

The Mancha had demanded for extension of the deadline of the application.
