NSS CO-UNIT, DEMONSTRATION MULTIPURPOSE SCHOOL ORGANISES TALK ON SENSITISING THE YOUTH ABOUT ISSUES & CONCERNS OF OLD AGE PEOPLE’
Bhubaneswar (30/04/2024): The NSS Co-Unit, Demonstration Multipurpose School, RIE, Bhubaneswar organised a Talk on the theme, ‘Sensitising the Youth about the Issues and Concerns of the Old Age People’ as a part of a series of programmes scheduled to be conducted for its NSS volunteers throughout the academic session 2024-25 on Tuesday at the Activity Hall of the School in Bhubaneswar.
All the NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in this programme.
Ramanath Nayak, a philanthropist and social worker who is currently running four Old Age Homes in Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was warmly received by the Programme Officer, Mohd.Ghulam Rahbar.
Thereafter Nayak was presented with a bouquet by the Headmaster, Akhileshwar Mishra.
The Programme Officer presented a brief introduction of the Chief Guest which was followed by the welcome address by the Hon.
Headmaster.
The chief guest delivered an enriching, enlightening, thought-provoking and inspiring lecture on the topic.
He also shared his personal experience about how an incident inspired him to take up this noble work of setting up old age homes and looking after these old, decrepit people who are homeless and destitute.
The volunteers listened to his sagacious words with rapt attention.
The chief guest also answered queries of the volunteers.
In a nut shell, the volunteers looked inspired and motivated by this talk.
They also resolved to develop compassion and sensitivity towards the older people.
It can, therefore, be safely surmised that the programme was a grand success. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Programme Officer.
