Bhubaneswar (17/08/2024): The ration card holders in Odisha will be entitled to get wheat along with their requisite quota of rice.
This was informed by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Saturday. According to Patra, the Odisha government has written to the Centre to provide wheat.
As per plans, the state has placed a demand to provide wheat against 20 percent of the rice quota.
This demand has been placed after considering the wheat demand by the people, the Minister said. Earlier, the previous state government had stopped the supply of wheat to the ration card holders after placing a demand for additional rice.
Subsequently, the ration card holders were provided rice.
