ODISHA'S PRANATI NAYAK CLINCHES BRONZE WHILE RAKESH PATRA FINISHES 4TH AT FIG WORLD CHALLENGE CUP 2023 IN SZOMBATHELY
Bhubaneswar(10/09/2023): In the ongoing Federation Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG) World Challenge Cup 2023 being held at Szombathely, Hungary, in a stage for exceptional talent and fierce competition, there has been some standout performances by Indian gymnasts Pranati Nayak and Rakesh Patra, both from Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Center (GHPC), Bhubaneswar. Pranati Nayak, competing in the Women's Vault event, made India proud by securing a bronze medal with a score of 12.966 points.
Her first vault fetched 13.066.
Second vault fetched 12.866.
In the qualification round, Pranati scored an impressive 12.850 while ranking 5th.
She improved her form in the finals, scoring 12.966 and clinching the bronze medal.
Her performance was a blend of technical prowess and artistic flair, earning her a well-deserved spot on the podium.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Pranati’s career and adds another feather to India's cap in the world of gymnastics. In a closely contested Rings event, Rakesh Patra finished 4th, narrowly missing out on a medal.
During the qualification round, Rakesh scored 13.600 ranking 5th.
He improved his performance in the finals, scoring 13.733 but fell just short of the podium.
His routine was a testament to his strength and skill, and although he missed a medal, his performance has been lauded for its excellence. The achievements of Pranati and Rakesh at the FIG World Challenge Cup 2023 have given a significant boost to Indian gymnastics.
Their performances have not only made the Nation proud but also set a precedent for upcoming talent in the sport.
