RPF Returns Lost Valuables to Passengers at Mecheda, Howrah, and Baripada

The Railway Protection Force (RPF), under Operation Amanat, has successfully returned several lost valuables to passengers at Mecheda, Howrah, and Baripada stations, reinforcing its commitment to passenger security and service.
At Mecheda on October 7, RPF personnel recovered a mobile phone worth ₹23,000 left unattended on Platform No. 1. The phone’s owner, a 70-year-old man from Hyderabad, later identified and received it after due verification.
At Howrah on October 6, following a complaint received through Rail Madad, RPF officials traced a laptop and bag worth ₹50,000 left behind in Coach C-6, Seat 35, of Train No. 20872 Vande Bharat Express. The items were located at Tikiapara and handed over to the rightful owner, a passenger from Jharkhand.
At Baripada on October 7, RPF staff found a ladies purse containing a Nokia phone, spectacles, and cash worth around ₹3,200 on Platform No. 1. A 61-year-old woman from Betnoti later confirmed ownership and collected her belongings.
These recoveries reflect the RPF’s alertness, efficient coordination, and dedication to passenger welfare. Grateful passengers praised the RPF for its prompt and professional response.
