THOUSANDS OF FISHERMEN STAGE PROTEST IN BHUBANESWAR

Bhubaneswar(27/02/2024): Thousands of fishermen staged a massive protest on Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday seeking immediate fulfillment of their 6-point charter of demands. The fishermen under the banner of Odisha Fishermen Association came from Paradip area last night and started the agitation this morning. Their major demands include diesel subsidy. According to the agitators, the families of fishermen will face hardship due to shutdown of boat operations for three months (May, June and July).

Therefore, allowance and ration rice for these three months should be provided to us.

The protest will be intensified in the days to come, if the state government fails to consider our grievances, they warned .
