1,000 senior citizens felicitated; program inaugurated with tree plantation
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): A Pujya Puja ceremony was organised by the Regional Development Council at the banks of the Daya River on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
During the event, around 1,000 senior citizens were felicitated, and free health check-ups were conducted with medicines distributed to them.
The program was inaugurated by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman of Ama Odisha, who planted a tree to mark the opening of the event.
MLA Babu Singh attended as the chief guest and appreciated the service activities while also promising to resolve various issues of the area.
Among the guests of honour were BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, former Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, the Chairperson of Bhubaneswar Panchayat Samiti, along with other local public representatives.
The event was managed by Parishad President Vrindaban Sahu, Vice-President Akshaya Swain, Secretary Arun Purohit, and members including Chinmayananda Badajena, Laxmidhar Pradhan, Prashant Mishra, Alok Sahu, and Yugal Kishore Sahu, General Secretary of the Odisha State Federation of Senior Citizens Association.
Several others including Suryakanta Sahu, Pradeep Pradhan, Purna Chandra Swain, Raghunath Swain, Sumanta Subuddhi, Bhagaban Pradhan, Dhiren Mohanty, Rajendra Sahu, Sanjay Sahu, Jitendra Jena, Akshaya Baral, Sukanta Baral, Kishore Pradhan, Sanjay Das, Soumya Parida, Sabita Mohapatra, Baishalini Patnaik, Bishnu Biswal, Dinabandhu Swain, Saroj Dash, Tapan Baral, Lingaraj Jena, Pradyumna Jena, Ashwini Sahu, and Bhuvanananda Behera, along with many other members, cooperated in conducting the program.
On this occasion, comedian Papu Pom Pom entertained the senior citizens with a humorous performance.
The tree plantation program was coordinated by Dr Lingaraj Sahoo.
