Cyclone update: Odisha government announces deployment of ODRAF & NDRF teams, cancels doctors' leave
Odisha Government Prepares for Cyclone Dana with Deployment of ODRAF and NDRF Teams Bhubaneswar (22/10/2024): The Odisha government on Tuesday announced the deployment of ODRAF and NDRF teams in various districts across the state.
According to the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), a total of 17 ODRAF teams will be stationed in 10 districts that are likely to be affected by the cyclone, with an additional three teams kept on standby for rapid response. The government has decided to deploy two ODRAF teams each in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Mayurbhanj.
One team each will be assigned to Cuttack, Ganjam, and Jajpur districts, ensuring comprehensive coverage for disaster management. The government has also announced the cancellation of all doctors' leaves from October 23 to 25 to ensure that medical personnel are available to respond during emergency period .
