Elephant rescued after falling into well in Keonjhar

Keonjhar(By Abhishek Mohanty): A wild elephant that had fallen into a well at Banajodi village under the Keonjhar Sadar forest range was rescued by forest department personnel.

Officials carried out the rescue operation by digging around the well from all sides and using a JCB machine to break open part of the structure, creating a safe exit path for the animal.

After being rescued, the elephant reportedly damaged the JCB machine. 

While moving back toward the forest, it also caused damage to a house and a motorcycle in the village. 

Forest officials later ensured that the elephant safely returned to the nearby forest area.
