No fuel without Pollution Certificate: Odisha Transport Commissioner to oil marketing companies

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty):  The Odisha Transport Commissioner has directed all oil marketing companies to ensure that petrol and diesel are not dispensed to vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC). 

The order has been issued under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The move aimed at curbing vehicular pollution and improving compliance with emission norms across the state.

To strengthen enforcement, e-detection systems at all toll gates now include PUC verification. 
The Transport Department has advised the vehicle owners to always carry a valid PUC certificate, avoid using polluting vehicles and contribute to environmental protection.
