Thousands of Anganwadi workers take to streets in Bhubaneswar

A massive gathering of Anganwadi workers was held on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

More than 50,000 Anganwadi workers took to the streets demanding teacher status, an increase in salary to Rs 18,000 and better working conditions.

Holding placards and banners, the Anganwadi workers coming from different parts of Odisha raised their voices in a large assembly, pressing for a total of 11 demands.

They have threatened to intensify agitation, if their demands are ignored
