Ganjam District Administration issues SOP for Danda Nacha

The Ganjam district administration has released a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to regulate the conduct of Danda Nacha celebrations this year.

According to the SOP, the use of double-meaning or suggestive language during Dhuli Danda has been strictly prohibited. Only traditional art performances will be allowed on night stages, while obscene or vulgar dances have been completely banned.

To ensure effective monitoring, a district-level committee has been formed comprising Block officials, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, and local Tahsildars. Additionally, the respective police station officer will issue permission for Danda Nacha events only after all guidelines are fully complied with.

A separate committee, including the BDO, the police station officer, and representatives of the cultural association, has also been constituted to supervise the overall arrangements and maintain discipline during the festivities.
